Dear Friends and Watchers,
You are all invited to a very special event, one that represents a notable moment in my fledgling art career: three of my newest paintings will be featured at the Fremont Gallery in South Pasadena, located at 812 Fremont Ave, Suite No. 100, South Pasadena, CA 91030. The exhibit is"In the Flow, Los Angeles Artists Supporting HIV/AIDS," which runs from December 3rd to December 12, 2011. A feature on the event can be seen in the December 1st, World AIDS Day issue of Pasadena Weekly.
The artists reception will be held this Saturday, December 3rd, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. If you are located in Southern California, and have the evening free, I would gratefully appreciate your attendance and support at this event. You will be able to view my new, experimental paintings (actually, the first traditional pieces I have completed since 2004!) and mingle with other artists, including celebrated Los Angeles artist Joey Terril. The exhibition also features works by Aurora Filipescu, Dean Triolo, Hector Silva, Ariel Vargassal, Andrea Shoening, Vlasta, and others.
50% of all proceeds from the art sold will be benefiting the two community-based HIV/AIDS organizations.
The exhibition is a fundraiser for two great community-based organizations, Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention Team (APAIT) Health Center, and Whittier Rio Hondo AIDS Project. As you probably already know, I am a clinical case manager at APAIT Health Center, and I provide much-needed, direct services to medically and socially underprivileged people living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. As someone working with the HIV/AIDS clients of one of the benefiting organizations, I can confidently say that the funds generated by this fundraiser will go a long way, and provide much-needed services for this community.
If you cannot come by the artists' reception, please do consider visiting the exhibit between December 3rd and December 12th, 2011.
